About Me

Someone asked me once what my dream job was; what is it that I want to do? The answer that I came up with after pondering for a while was not "what do I want to do" but what I actually do already. I tell stories.

I've been writing as an on-again, off-again hobby for years. I was involved in some aspect of performing - ballet and other dance, theatre, music - pretty much constantly from the age of four to my mid-twenties. Then I got to the point where reality set in and I had to get what my dad called a "real" job.

I've had several "real" jobs since then, including: guiding a ghost tour; a stint as a children's librarian in a very busy public library where I did story times and craft projects; and at an academic library where, among other things, I designed displays and made weekly blog posts for the university's library system.

But I have also discovered that your "real job" may not be your "real love." My real love is beautiful words, stories with archetypal themes, characters, places, and events that leave a mark on you - whether serious or funny.

To date, I have published three short stories and a flash fiction (for more on that, see the My Works page). I also have three novels that I am working on in rotation, as well as several other strong contenders for completed short stories, and novels in various stages of development. I plan to update the My Works page with major news on the finishing and publication front as it happens.

For more every-day news, bits of interesting historical commentary, and general "what are you up to" info, keep an eye on my blog, or my social media platform.
